Well, I’ve been wanting to post a blog update after each tournament, but that’s proving to be near impossible! Balancing school, work, and competitive fishing is no easy task, but I’m up for the challenge. I’ve been doing a good job of keeping the Facebook fan page ( facebook.com/andermeine ) going strong, but the website here has been getting neglected a bit. Here’s a quick run down of all the tournaments I’ve fished so far this year
(Low) Media Bass - Lake LBJ (21 Jan 2012): I had pretty mediocre pre-fishing results for this tournament. Continue reading →

Long time no blog. So what’s up? Quite a bit. I’ll start off picking up where my last blog post left off at. I believe it was me talking about my boat coming back home soon. Well, it’s home, and it’s been home for a couple months now. Long story short, the motor got rebuilt and runs like a champ now. However, I’ve decided it’s time I moved on and got a new boat. I’m currently working on re-carpeting the rest of the boat and putting in new seats. Once that’s all done, I’ll be selling it. Anyone interested? I’ve been trying to take it out at least once a week to run it, but of course that’s my excuse to fish at least once a week! Continue reading →

The boat is coming home!!! That’s great news, but at what cost? It ain’t coming cheap; I’ll tell you that. When is it ever though right? It’s been more than a month now since the boat has been away. After sitting at Austin Action Marine for about 3 weeks, I was told that it would be a $3500 fix. OUCH! Obviously that was not going to be a great option. I decided to take it to someone else for another opinion. I took it over to Chris Ray who runs Performance Outboards off of Hwy 71 as you’re headed out to Lake LBJ. Continue reading →

I had to take my boat into the doctor’s office a couple of weeks ago. As is usually the case when leaving the boat with a mechanic… I still don’t have it back yet. I took it in because it started making a pretty bad knocking noise in the upper part of the engine. For any of you that know anything about boat motors, that’s probably not a good sign at all. Well, it’s been an interesting few weeks. First of all. I quit my job doing pest control. It was just too much. It was ok for a while and helped Susie and I to get on top of some things financially, but it just got to the point where I couldn’t handle the schedule anymore. It was taking a toll on way too many areas of my life. Most importantly, there was just something inside of me that said I needed to get out of there. Continue reading →

Ok, here’s the announcement: I have decided to officially start offering guided fishing trips. For the past few years, I have been approached on numerous occasions asking if I offered guided fishing trips. I’ve hesitated for a long time to do such a thing for a few reasons: 1) No guide license, 2) My boat and equipment is not up to par with that of other guides, 3) Competition. Well, after some pushing from a few friends, that’s all taken care of. Continue reading →

Yeah, so, I started I new job back at the beginning of May and my schedule has changed drastically. It has taken me some time to get used to, plus May was just a crazy month in general. Between starting a new job and taking off to the Virgin Islands for vacation, it took a while to get settled into a routine. Around the beginning of June, I finally got into a set schedule at work. What is my new job? Continue reading →

What a week! Let me begin by saying that I had a fantastic time at this event. It was loads of fun, exciting, and I learned a lot. Now let me follow that up by saying, I don’t think I’ll be fishing many more state championships. Unless it is within a pretty close drive of my home, it is simply not worth my time and money to participate in. Continue reading →

Well, I in the last two weeks, I’ve fished the ATX Big Bass Open tournament and our monthly ATX Bassmasters club tournament. The Big Bass tournament was ok, but it was a little disappointing. I was helping to plan & run that tournament in an effort to help make some money for both me and the other guys from the club that will be competing in the state championship tournament shortly. Well, I’ve been pretty focussed recently on taking care of business. This is the first time in a while that I’ve been making some serious ground in the right direction with my fishing career. I think I’ve finally got my head on straight and know exactly what I need to do to move forward. Everything was pretty generalized and vague in my head before. I’ve finally got a legit fishing resume put together to present to potential sponsors Continue reading →
